Aircraft Maintenance Professor

Academian is seeking experienced Assessment Writers and Assessment Reviewers/Specialists to support the development of high-quality assessments for Aviation Maintenance Technician General (AMTG) programs. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to certification-aligned educational content that meets FAA and Airman Certification Standards (ACS) requirements.

Assessment Reviewer / Specialist – AMTG

Responsibilities:

• Review and validate AMTG assessment items for technical accuracy and instructional alignment.
• Evaluate questions using Bloom’s Taxonomy and ensure alignment with FAA and ACS learning objectives.
• Confirm each question:
• Matches intended learning outcomes
• Has appropriate cognitive complexity
• Includes accurate answer keys and plausible distractors
• Provide feedback to writers for improvement in clarity, readability, and instructional effectiveness.
• Ensure assessments use FAA-approved language and conform to a Grade 8–9 reading level.
• Verify alignment with FAA Part 147 standards and classroom readiness.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Background in aviation maintenance instruction or technical education in the U.S.
• In-depth knowledge of FAA regulations and ACS standards.
• Experience in assessment design, validation, or instructional content review.
• Strong editorial and analytical skills with an eye for technical precision.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
